Mile of Pennies
EQUIVALENT TO 12.63 MILES
A massive thank-you to everyone who has donated pennies to our Cancer Research UK Relay For Life mile of pennies appeal. We have now reached our £10,000 total which is equal to 12.63 miles - Peterhead to Toll O' Birness. We intend to keep collecting your pennies for Relay and see how far we get.

Friday 24th March
A fundraising Zumbathon will be held at The Royal British Legion in Fraserburgh. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Funds raised in aid of Autoimmune Alopecia Research UK.
Peterhead SNP presents the Scottish Accordion Music Group in concert in Longhaven Public Hall. Tickets are £6.50 which includes teas & homebakes and can be booked by calling 01779 813028 (after 1.00pm).
The Fraserburgh Cricket Club are hosting a fundraiser quiz night at 7pm on Friday 24th March at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre. Entry is £20 per team of 4. All proceeds to go towards the development of the junior section and the purchase of new equipment.
A quiz night in aid of the Princes Trust Peterhead will be held at the Clerkhill Lounge on Friday 24th March from 6.30 to 10pm. Entry is £10 per team of 4.
Saturday 25th March
A 70s/80s evening will take place in the Peterhead Football Club in aid of raising awareness and research of SRUK (Marlenes Memories). Tickets cost £10 and are available from Michael on 07974295466 or Sheila 07527804030.
The Buchanhaven Heritage Society (Old Buchanhaven Schoolie) are having an Afternoon tea with Photographs exhibited from 1 to 4pm on Saturday 25th March. Entry is Free with tea and cakes at £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children.
Sunday 26th March
A sponsored walk from Peterhead to Boddam will be held at 1pm to help raise funds for a cuddle cot – a refrigerated Moses basket helping parents who suffer the loss of a baby. Vikkie Summers is campaigning to raise £1,600 to bring a cuddle cot to the local area in memory of her late son Ethan. Wednesday 29th March
A family prize bingo in aid of P7 pupils from St. Andrews School, Fraserburgh will be held at 7pm in the pensioners hall, Union Grove. Books cost £5 for adults and £1 for children. Doors open at 6pm refreshments served at half time. Funds raised will go towards Primary 7 pupils’ trip to Dalguise Adventure Centre, Perthshire.
A concert, ‘Bond and Beyond’ will be held at Mintlaw Academy at 7pm. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions and are sold at Mintlaw Academy. Tickets now available or you can pay at the door on the night. Call 01771 622994 and ask for the music department for details.
Friday 31st March
Fraserburgh Cats Protection are hosting a fun quiz in the Elizabethan Bar and Lounge, Fraserburgh for a 7pm start. A team of 4 costs £10 and includes refreshments, along with a raffle. Raising funds for all the cats/kittens.
Saturday 1st April
Lodge Ugie 939 are hosting a Prize Bingo on Saturday 1st April at the Buchan Indoor Bowling Club in Mintlaw. Doors open at 7 for a 7.30 start. All welcome.
A Buttery Morning will be held from 10 till 12 noon at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Merchant Street, Peterhead. Entry is £2. All most welcome.
Sunday 2nd April
The Buchan Bird Club will be holding an Aviary and Pet bird sale at New Pitsilgo Village Hall at 1pm (Sellers welcome from 12pm) Entry is £1.50 for adults and free for children.
Sunday 8th April
A craft stall event ‘For the Locals by the Locals’ will take place from 10am to 4pm at the Rescue Hall, Peterhead, organized by Indigo Healing. All stallholders are from the local area. Entry is £1 per person, under 5s are free. All money raised to be split between 2 local charities, RAFA and Sam H Mental Health.

A Quiz Night in aid of ‘Taking Jamie Home’ will be held at the Elizabethan Bar, Fraserburgh at 7 for a 7.30pm start. Entry is £10 per team of 4 and all money will go towards the fund for Jamie who is now severely brain damaged following a RTA in January 2016. Funds will contribute towards buying a suitable home for the family.

Sunday 16th April
Strichen Playgroup are holding their annual Easter egg hunt at Strichen Lake on from 12-2pm. Take part in the Easter egg hunt and a fun scavenger hunt through the woods with lots of fun and games for the family to enjoy. Browse the various stalls and get a cool treat at the ice cream van. Remember to bring along your 'best decorated egg' for the competition.
Saturday 22nd April
The Peterhead Festival of Gospel Male-voice Praise will be held in the Congregational Church, Queen Street, Peterhead. Doors open at 6pm, community hymn singing starts at 6.30 with the full programme starting at 6.45. The speaker and chairman is Rev, James McMillian. Admission is free.
Monday 12th June

All money will go towards the fund for Jamie who is now severely brain damaged following a RTA in January 2016. Funds will contribute towards buying a suitable home for the family.
